Herbal Answers For Everyday

Which feels better?  Feeling stuck and powerless or having options and control?

I have to admit for the last few years I have been observig with frustration over a certain area I have been made continuously aware of.  I don't know why I'm surprised...maybe its because 90% of these answers have been available for years and years, and still are!

Life is too short to feel crappy about common 'in your face' health issues that can distract us from a productive and enjoyable day!  The list of complaints below should be temporary and rarely uncomfortable for long, and yet so many let them become that way.  Doesn't have to be!  Learn some basics from me and you will find less discomfort and more ease!

Colds/flu
Sore throat
Sinus infection
Ear infection
Bladder infection
Yeast infection (numerous symptoms or examples of this, not just vaginal infection)
Eczema
Pink Eye
Digestive complaints
Bowel irregularities
Depression/Anxiety
Arthritis/Tendonitis, Muscle ache
Tired and low energy
Moodiness
Skin problems (warts, moles, boils, bruises, rashes, breakouts)

So many answers!!

I see so many accepting a less than satisfactory existence!  Are you doing this?  Many have worked with their doctor (of course you should consult your doctor for your health concerns) and do know what the 'problem' is, yet they are not getting or seeing lasting results.  They then bemoan their problem to anyone who will listen...but afraid to consider some very basic, helpful and viable solutions!  Letting these everyday issues get to us eventually can bring us down, which just compound the problem!  Our immune system is then compromised as well as our emotional out look.  And it keeps going.

Ask questions, try something new, empower yourself and your loved ones.
This goes for health as well as everyday life!!

Perimenopause Rollercoaster!

And what a ride!

(Free Giveaway at end of article to 1 lucky winner)

Admit it, there is so much information out there in regards to Menopause.... however, when talking about Perimenopause symptoms, I feel like I'm sitting at the top of a roller coaster asking myself how I got up here, clinging with a vice like grip - all wide-eyed and facing the unknown.  I seem to be stumbling over yet another experience as I move through this point in my life. From Merriam-Webster: "Perimenopause - the period around the onset of menopause that is often marked by various physical signs as hot flashes and menstrual irregularity."  Well, I'm glad THAT explained everything! LOL  Not even close.   I have to say I find a large percentage of women I have talked to have little or no real knowledge of the list of possible symptoms that could be caused by this time in their life.

We've all heard about  the weight gain, hot flashes, moodiness, menstrual irregularities - but my on and off again symptoms of headaches, aches and joint pain, dizziness and anxiety were not on my radar at all!  I have to say besides working with clients, I see many confused women at the doctors office. It seems the majority have no idea their sudden symptoms - ie,  anxiety,  could be a sign of perimenopause and not a separate issue.  Especially for those who have never dealt with anxiety prior.  Simply 'treating' anxiety will not get rid of it, instead, looking at other factors (hormone fluctuations, age and other symptoms) will pinpoint a smarter treatment regime.

I dealt with anxiety years ago when going through my bowel issues...no fun.  Having it pop up now for seemingly 'no reason' was confusing at first.  It felt different, but something was going on. Then I looked at my other factors and realized they were all part of the same group and I did some research.  What a relief and what an eye-opener!

Thankfully I don't hesitate to try something natural.  For me it's as automatic as getting a glass of water when I'm thirsty.  I know it will quench my thirst, just as I know I will find relief with my herbs/supplements if I just give it a go.  For me what has already made a difference is increasing my women's herbal formula.  I also looked at what I have on my counter (all kinds of goodies) and realized I hadn't started up my D3 since summer.  So I started that again,  5000IU per day.  Since those changes alone I haven't experienced the anxiety (palpitations),  and the 'achy-ness' I would feel by the end of the day is hardly  noticeable. Whew!  I have also been on and off again with YOGA these past few months...and am realizing it is helping me even when I only have time for 15 minutes some mornings.  So I am taking this seriously as darn it,  I have every intention of aging gracefully and staying active...these 3 simple steps are on the road to managing this.  I'm sure I'll find more if I need to.

A nice woman I met with last evening  (in her 50's) commented on some symptom she was having and her doctor saying it was a part of getting older.  Hell no!  lol  We don't HAVE to decline as we get older...we may age as the years go by - but decline is something we can take a stand against.  Listening to comments like this and taking them as a belief will add to that 'decline' mentality.  I say choose otherwise.

As I age I choose:  Ease, health, flexibility, energy, expansion, lightheartedness, excitement and fun -   I am here for you if you want to join the ranks of those who believe we can be and have a healthy existence - no matter what age!

What's Different About Today?

I've written about this subject before, but when it keeps coming up for me, I have to make mention of it...as a reminder to me and maybe to you!

What I've asked myself lately (and now you)  is what is my life generally like - as far as my day to day?  Pretty routine, or  more jam-packed with stuff going on - take a minute and think about it.  How much of that is fun or interesting to you on a regular basis?  You can still be busy but not jazzed up about it.  For me...it's more routine than otherwise...although my Zip-lining- dangling between trees, last weekend counts for some variety! Lol.  However aside from enjoying nature and spending time with family...I also was really feeling the need to change things up a bit.  Talking and wishing about something is fun and gets me out of my 'routine', if only in my mind at least.  But actually planning and doing something is another!  I had learned about zip-lining almost 4 yrs ago, on TV!

I like planning things!  I like the anticipation as much as the actual 'doing'.  For instance I've been wanting to get back into crocheting...ok not scoring high on the excitement scale, but it's SOMETHING.  Sooo...for me...thinking about it...looking up patterns, digging out my hooks and looking at yarn at stores, finding 'beginner' patterns online - got me more jazzed up.  Then came the actual 'doing' something about it.  And this is all part of breaking up your routine - I found a local class (free) and went by myself to finally DOING something.  I'm so glad I did!  Now I have a bit more knowledge and confidence and am working on 2 easy but fun projects and I look forward to it!!

Work in progress!
What can you do different that you've been talking about or thinking about?  As I get older I'm realizing each day that goes by is another day I could have 'done' something...even if it's educating myself on something I'm curious about.  Sometimes after we investigate, we decide 'nah, this isn't for me'.

But if you don't even try?
