Our fast food lifestyle has made eating 'junk' all too easy as we all know. But since you only need a few ingredients for any of these recipes, it makes this so do-able - and YES in only 3 minutes if you have everything ready!

I'm actually excited about making these this weekend, because if they taste as good as they sound, I'll be making them regularly...AND they freeze well also.

If you have time I would definitely browse through her Channel of recipes as there are so many good ideas and again, many look EASY. Let me know in the comments if you try these!
Why isn't it??

Granted, learning to cope comes with time and experiences themselves, however having some basic skills in place can make a world of difference.

When I was a teenager/young adult - emotional upsets could derail me for days, weeks or months.

I was overly sensitive, but still! If I didn't have parents or a friend who at least took the time to listen to me and offer some way to 'feel better' I would have floundered even longer! I'm not saying they had any earthshaking answers. lol What they did have however

were some life experiences to draw on, stories to share - and when you feel at an all time low, feeling as if 'I'll never get over this" - anything they could offer to help was like a balm to me, even if only temporary. It was enough for me to at least have moments of relief - and that I now know was key.

That feeling of relief was my connection with my inner self again. I know I want to feel good - I think it's what drives all of us. But losing that connection doesn't feel very good and having coping skills in place make it all so much easier to get back to where we want to be/feel.

These are some ways I can usually find relief and reconnect with me - even if temporary:

Talking with someone close to me

Nature, I actually went 'tree hugging' this weekend!! :) --> <grin> </grin>

Meditating/candles/music

Music - loud

Reading

Netflix Marathon, or DVD

Crocheting

Eating something I really really enjoy with no guilt

Talking with a coach/mentor (yes I do have one)

Doing nothing or being overly busy cleaning/organizing

Reading or re-reading many inspirational blogs, articles or books I have close at hand

Audio books/online Podcasts that inspire me

Look into volunteering

Use herbs/vitamins I know help me with overall mood/hormones etc

I find that being able to change my response to problems these days aligns with my desire to be more solution oriented, instead of only reacting with hand wringing and worry. Sure I may lean that way when I let myself get overwhelmed, but it doesn't last as long and soon I'm back in 'find relief/solution mode'.

I have seen many a person flounder with issues that come up in their lives simply because they don't have coping skills. A relationship break up, a fight with a friend, parent/child conflict, body image concerns, situational depression, job/money concerns - these can and do take on a different light when you have a way to cope and move forward with more hope and confidence.

No one has to go it alone - if you don't have parents or family/friends that can help with some of your concerns, there are counselors, books, and groups out there to support and offer much needed relief. The point I wanted to make here was simply to know that there's a big old world out there - answers galore. Reach out, ask for help, talk to someone, browse at your favorite bookstore or library - whatever that may be for you to find your way back to who you are.

You will find your problems seem smaller and more manageable if you can learn to do this as soon as you start having issues. Even the larger upsets or events will be a bit easier on you overall. It's all about coming back into alignment with that inner you that knows you best of all. Baby steps with this...your only goal here is to find ways to feel just a 'little' bit better to help you cope and move forward with more positive, hopeful feelings. ♥

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We all know that some hair loss is normal - the old standard of 100 strands of hair per day (not sure who came up with that number) has been a general rule.

<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">However when it starts happening at a faster rate it's time to start looking at how to stop it and get things back to normal.

<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">My experiences over the years have confirmed the most common cause for hair loss in women. S-t-r-e-s-s and it's affect on our hormone/glandular system. What I don't think enough women or doctors take into account are the variety of ways Stress will show up in the body. Many think that if they aren't in the middle of a larger life event (divorce, job loss etc) that they aren't overly stressed. However many of us are on emotional roller coasters and have been for a while. We've just been dealing with them longer so they seem, well, normal! For example:

<span style="font-family: "arial";">The job or relationship that drains you

<span style="font-family: "arial";">The care of an elderly parent or relative

<span style="font-family: "arial";">You have a job but live paycheck to paycheck

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Ongoing health issues that you wish you could change

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Weight gain

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Feeling you should be doing more with your life

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Problems with child's behavior at home/school

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Empty nest

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Hormone imbalance -thyroid, adrenal or reproductive hormones are most common (You can check with your doctor for guidance if you suspect hormone issues so you can monitor)

<span style="font-family: "arial";">This is just a basic list but I'm hoping you get the general idea. Stress is a fact of life and generally speaking our bodies are set up to deal with it. The problems begin when the Stress is not addressed or compensated for, and continues without our taking steps to CARE for self. Our bodies can't always keep up and those safety nets that are normally in place to help us, start to show some wear and tear.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">
<span style="font-family: "arial";">So what can be done?
<span style="font-family: "arial";">
<span style="font-family: "arial";">The first thing would be to admit that there IS something going on within your life or lifestyle that is contributing. There is ALWAYS something you can do to make changes or improvements even when in the past it seemed impossible. If you simply say...'oh there's nothing I can do, or 'nothing can be done' then it's like having the answer knock on your door and you just ignoring the knock.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">
<span style="font-family: "arial";">Stress also affects the PH in the body which upsets the flora in our digestive system which affects our hormones also - so I am REALLY making a point here lol - Stress affects hair loss! Read below for answers that I have used and/or recommended:<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Start to look at the STRESS that is in your life. It may not be going away anytime soon, but as I said there is SOMETHING you can DO to start to improve the situation or your daily reaction to it. The key is to DECIDE to start considering you have options!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">How is your overall diet? If your eating is below average (and even average isn't always enough when stressed) then you really need to consider making changes. The ongoing stress you are under is depletes our bodies stored vitamins/minerals. Our Nervous and Glandular systems THRIVE on proper nutrition. If you are having hair loss your systems are 'asking' you for more nutrition. That hair on your bathroom floor is the body doing the 'asking' to get your attention! Start cutting out the junk and opt for 'cleaner' choices.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Yeast/Candida in the body.(PH being off mentioned above) <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Candida issues are so very common with stress...as regular stress contributes to the unwanted flora/bacteria in our digestive/intestinal systems and it multiplies big time. And this places stress on our glands - especially thyroid and adrenals. Vicious cycle

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Supplementation - B vitamins can become your BFF! ☺ I cannot say enough about a good B vitamin complex or diet with more B enriched foods. If I could pick one supplement that could or should be in your back pocket, this is the one. Especially for WOMEN! If you can only afford what's at the nearest drugstore, start with that. However quality will be KEY here. As many 'think' they are getting what they need but if the quality of the supplement falls short...you are being misled and think..'oh these don't work, what's the point?" My 'green drink' as I call it, delivers B vitamins like a shot in the arm. Pure, organic food, in powdered form - absorbs in 15 minutes (also acts like a multi vitamin) Starts righting some of the wrongs in our hormonal system and has a BIG effect on hair, skin and nail health. B vitamins also help the body (emotionally/physically) deal with stress and feed our adrenals (energy) See what I mean? B Vitamins can be a woman's best friend!

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Apple Cider Vinegar - I only use Braggs Vinegar...and my only reference for results. (can't speak for other brands) The Vinegar helps restore alkalinity in the body and is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral - thus it helps with Yeast/Candida in the body

and topically. Start with a teaspoon orally per day and work up to a couple tablespoons daily if you can. You can also apply to hair/scalp (dilute with water when first using it) and rinse out - if possible leave on for 10 min or so...but if sensitive by all means rinse sooner!

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Hair loss can be improved over time so hope is not lost! It never is. I hope you found these suggestions helpful and if you know anyone who may benefit please feel free to share this post!
LOVING this time of year!! If you step outside early one morning or later in the quiet evening air you will see what I mean. I love the Fall and the way the air just smells more 'earthy'. I find it extremely calming. And it's no wonder, as our awareness of nature and the earthiness scent I'm talking about help us feel connected to something greater.

And since each season has it's own set of 'scents' I wanted to talk about some of the favorites that you will no doubt find yourself enjoying this time of year.

A few of my favorite spices come up quite a bit this time of year and holiday season. Clove, Cinnamon and Ginger are used regularly in baking and holiday candies, beverages and goodies. If I do use any or all of these in my baking, I always bake with healthier ideas in mind. Less sugar and oils whenever possible. Yet I will not skimp on taste. I also add to my coffee or different herbal teas for an added kick - and yummy on hot or refrigerated oatmeal. Besides tasting these goodies in our food, the scents of them also are invigorating and health building. I love using essential oils or the whole spice itself to simmer and scent the air.

Ginger - We all know Ginger helps with upset stomach and motion sickness. If you need Ginger Ale for stomach issues...spend a little more and get some Ginger Beer (like Root Beer) in the health food section- Oh my, it's wonderful and you are really getting the good stuff! Ginger also improves circulation, specifically in the hands and feet. Ginger will also help with pain and inflammation of arthritis. Many will enjoy Ginger as a tea.

Cinnamon - Many have heard that Cinnamon helps with blood sugars. And it's true! It does have to be taken regularly, (capsule form is probably easiest), and of course you do have to keep track of your blood sugar levels. Cinnamon can also help with acid reflux and the scent can help with stimulating brain function.

Cloves - Cloves have long been noted for their remarkable benefit of helping with the pain of toothaches and sore gums. Apply directly to the area. Cloves also can be a great bug repellant (essential oil in spray bottle with water) Cloves are also anti fungal and can help with Yeast/Candida in the body.

Just a short list for each of these wonderful aromatic herbs/spices but since they are used so much this time of year I wanted you to know how much they can do for you. Stock up or give as gifts - teas, cookies, essential oils or yummy ginger beer! Many ways to enjoy!

Nature has us covered! ☺

Yes I dealt with anxiety - for quiet a while. For me it was a revolving door, as I was also dealing with Bowel issues at the same time. One played off of the other. Either way I felt controlled by both situations and it took a lot of experimenting on my part to find what worked.

Please realize that what worked for me may not work for you. And at the same time I'd also like to say, don't give up looking for options if you have anxiety. I had the option of medication back then...but I kept looking. This is not to say there is anything wrong with medications for anxiety. They can be a life saver, I know. But I also know they can become a crutch, and many never look any further, and become dependent on them to function. I'm all about empowering others on helping themselves. So take about 10 minutes and watch the video and see if anything sounds do-able for you or someone you know.

And don't take my word on it - take my ideas and do some research as there's so much information out there. I hope this gives you a place to start.

It's something that has been a part of my life since I was a kid as my parents were and extended family were excellent examples.

Since
I've been reminded of it twice this week so far, I realized I was due
for some ways to show some RAK(random acts of kindness) to others,
myself. I have a few ideas brewing in my head and I'm already looking
forward to it! It's always a 'win-win'.

Now do yourself a
feel good favor and click to watch this video and watch a wonderful
example of Kindness disguised as 'Appreciation'.

Feel free to comment if you feel 'inspired!' ☺

Hands down, this natural deodorant is heavy duty in my book, like Bounty is to paper towels!

Now while I like to think I don't 'stink' if I don't use something under my arms, I may still have an odor at the end of a long, stressful day. If being honest you probably would too. At the very least if it's hot out or you're working hard or doing some heavy work - it stands to reason you may work up a sweat. And for most of the population this is where the use of deodorant or antiperspirant comes in. (For the record for this post, I'm focusing on deodorant)

Sitting nonchalantly in the produce section, minding their own business, these colorful drink adornments can deal with the most ripe of body odors. Yep the tart lemon and lime. The powerful citrus juice lowers you skin's ph which helps to eliminate bacteria and thus 'odor'.

I put it to the test for 2 weeks including one or 2 really hot, humid days, outside and inside. The boyfriend did it too. We both were more than impressed. Watch my 3 minute Natural Fix video for simple instruction as to how you can try nature's cost effective alternative to deodorant! You now have a natural option to the store bought version, no chemicals!!

.

Let me know if you try it out!! Come on, aren't you curious? ☺

We are bombarded with commercials, articles, products and reasons why we NEED Calcium. And I agree. We do! Calcium is important in many ways - however Magnesium in my opinion is almost more important after you educate yourself on the role it plays in our body - physically and mentally!

A few ways that Magnesium works behind the scenes to help our bodies:

Helps regulate blood sugar levels

Relaxes our blood vessels (blood pressure)

Helps with bowel activity

Helps the Heart muscle do it's job (prevention of stroke, heart attacks, helps with abnormal heart rhythms)

Fibromyalgia

Helps with ADHD

Sleep

Bone and teeth formation

Muscle cramps

Natural blood thinner

Of course using food as a tool to get more magnesium into your body is the safest way to supplement so do some homework as to what foods/herbs are higher in Magnesium.

A Few Basics:

Pumpkin Seeds
Dark Chocolate ☺
Avacados
Dark leafy greens
Almonds/Almond Butter, Cashews, Pine Nuts (make your own trail mix!)

Epsom Salt (Natural source of Magnesium)

You can also take a bath using once or twice a week in Epsom Salts( 1 cup to bath water) to soothe aches and encourage relaxation while your skin absorbs magnesium or a soothing footsoak (1/2 cup Epsom Salts) in cool or warm water depending on the weather outside! Also helps with foot odor.

Supplementing is fine too, but stick to the basics with dosages. For Females over age 14 about 300mg per day and Men about 400mg per day. If you have any Kidney problems or health issues you really need to check with your doctor before taking on any added Magnesium. Too much is not a good thing either!

I still prefer food or natural sources for my Magnesium so not to have to worry about getting too much..however a blood test is great to know where you stand. Some people are dangerously low and this is one sure way to find out! My doctor will even give Magnesium in an IV if really low...so if you have symtoms of possible deficiency, get a simple blood test to be sure..

Even Dr Oz has made mention of how important Magnesium is in our bodies!

Why You Need Magnesium

Another great source of information in this Article also.

Needless to say I don't want you to take my word for it! As always I encourage you to educate yourself on your options and what your body may benefit from. This is one of many informative books out there, but a great place to start for anyone interested.
Well, it helps.

I hope you have had the chance to check out my new YouTube Channel, I'm not sure if I will be posting all my videos to my site but for now I am. By all means subscribe to my channel or at the very least subscribe to my site with your email (top right of this page) so you get regular updates.

Now all that out of the way, my video concentrates on 3-4 'natural' ways to help deal with and get rid of Acne. No fun at any age and yes, some have worse cases then others. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding what works for you and being open to a bit of experimentation. Diet actually does come into play mainly for how it affects your hormones and the bacteria build up in your body. So while food isn't the totally to blame, watching what causes breakouts is your body telling you you could stand to upgrade your diet and drink more water.

Please realize that not everything works for everyone, but these have worked for many, so hopefully you or someone you know will find relief!

Thanks for watching! ☺

I'm kind of excited about it as this way I can reach even more folks with concerns they may be having and you can share video with friends or family who may need the information as well!

Now I am no video expert and I realize my video here on Acid Reflux feels very 'beginner-ish' to me and a bit too close up, lol but hey, you have to start somewhere and hopefully they will get better as I go along.

Please feel free to comment under the video and hit the like button if it helped you in any way. I do have a favor to ask that if you would let me know either on YouTube or comment on this post, if you want to see any certain subject discussed.

I also have updated my Health Consultation Page and you will now see an choice for a 'one question option' so if you just need some clarification or a suggestion sooner rather than later - it's only FIVE DOLLARS ($5)!!

I made this totally affordable so I hope you will not be afraid to use this option whenever some help is needed. Of course more in depth answers are available with the full, online consultation.

I won't necessarily be posting all future videos on my website, so please feel free to subscribe to my youtube channel so you can keep track. Of course the other option is to sign up for each new post here, with your email on right of this page.

Sooo please take a few minutes (about 8) and watch my video on Acid Reflux and hopefully you or someone you know can benefit!

"It says MOOPS!" (Seinfeld fans get this lol)

For me it means never thinking outside of the box, rarely trying anything or going anywhere new, and frankly being afraid to even consider it. The thinking of 'well why make waves, or why fix it if it isn't broke' - to me also can mean settling for less.

Happily I am a big believer of 'popping' the perceived 'bubble'.

I get ansty when some things stay the same or seemingly don't change.

Routine is one of those things. Granted, I kind of like some of my routines, I know what to expect, and feel comfort in that. Fine. Dandy. But then there are things I do or most of us do, because it's easy, or we've gotten used to it, and what's all the fuss about? But see, this is what starts nagging me. If I don't consider something in a different light, how will I ever know what is out there? As quite frankly, as it turns out - LOTS!!

Since I love examples, here's 3 ☺

1) I'm an avid reader, always have been. I tend to lean towards Mysteries, some fiction and yes some self help/health stuff. But for pure pleasure it's always been Mysteries - 'Who done it' sorts. Old world, and current, I enjoy it all. Over the years however I realized I was in a rut. I read the same types of authors (whom I love) but realized...gee there's a ba-zillion authors out there, maybe I should start asking for some other authors. And I did. What a treat!! An entire new world opened up to me when I started thinking outside of the box! In the past, I'd sort of dismiss some of the 'types' of authors or stories others talked about. "Oh those aren't for me", I'd pipe in. And well sure, some of them still don't do it for me. But I have to tell you...LOTS of them do! I feel like I hit the lottery with all these new authors! (anyone who reads gets this lol)

2) As you know..I partake in natural therapies. I've tried or experimented with all kinds of 'stuff'. I do my research and give it a go. For the most part I've been very happy with what I've found to work for me. Sure not EVERYTHING works for everyone..but thankfully there's so much out there to choose from - thinking out side of the box, again!

3) Do you ever drive somewhere a lot, maybe to work or someone's house...knowing which route works, probably in your sleep. And if you are like me, usually the easiest and fastest. Well I have recently started to take totally alternate routes to some of my normal destinations. I

have to laugh at how many streets I've never been down in my own general neighborhood! I've also branched out to other areas, finding parks I never knew existed, stores I have never seen not to mention restaurants. Take a detour now and then!

Living in a bubble for somethings doesn't make a big difference in your day to day, but when you feel bored or just that ho-hum, uninspired feeling - maybe it's time to you ask yourself, "Am I really enjoying all the magnificence that our world has to offer?"

We live in a abundant Universe. Start thinking outside of the 'bubble' and see what surprises and new horizons are out there - could lead to all sorts of new delights or adventures!

When faced with something that feels like a chore we tend to put it lower on the list, where it tends to stay! After our LONG-ASS, cold, winter...(Yes I'm being rather 'cheeky' but it seems to fit) I am more than ready to wave bye-bye to Winter and welcome Spring and all that comes with it!

I've been looking into new ways of gardening - I've done regular gardening and container gardening, and am looking into some vertical gardening. Pretty cool stuff! I'm also checking out areas I may wantto explore outdoors, whether for walking or simple places to read or meditate as it really improves my overall sense of well-being and I've so missed it!

I'm also more than ready to lighten up my eating, and yes even for 1 day you will feel a difference and your body feels it too! When I do these mini detox's I keep it simple! This is KEY! Little to no preparation, just some items to get when out doing your regular shopping!

Ready for my big plan??

RAW FOOD for 1 day - and plenty of water and herb tea.

That's all she wrote! Easy or what?? Now for those who aren't quite up to speed with what that may mean, you can certainly google what a raw food diet consists of. But since I've done it many times I'll give you the basics. I only eat fresh, uncooked live foods. All plant based. This means fresh fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds.

My day may look like this:

Breakfast: Bowl of fresh fruit (as much as I want)

Snack: more fruit and or maybe some sunflower seeds or other raw nuts (health food stores or Wegmans has nice bulk area in Natural Mart- so I only buy what I need for the day)

Lunch: Big salad! (I always think of that Seinfeld episode when I say 'Big Salad' lol) This just means lots of different greens, veggies, maybe even a chopped up apple & some nuts. I make my own salad dressing. (lots of great recipes on AllRecipes.com), or just use some oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and some garlic or onion powder and toss.

Snack: Any of the above...so could be an apple, more nuts, cup of tea

Dinner: Guacamole (any time of day, but I save for dinner) with fresh garlic and red onion, I dip some thin sliced celery in or spread on thin sliced cucumber. I LOVE GUACAMOLE and actually eat it once a week regardless! I may also have a tomato/cuke/onion salad on side

Snack: If I still need a snack..might be small bowl of fresh fruit or some nuts/apple.

It doesn't have to be so involved...the only realy 'prep' is making sure you have the food items on hand. I buy organic when I can...but don't let that stop you. Wash your food well and just do it. More organics and fresh options when the farmers market's open and then you can do it more often!

I also take some of my Colon Cleanse the night before - (well I take it more often but on these days, it's a definite) Why not clear things out and help the body even more?

Pick a day and just do it! I will do it on a work day or weekend, just depends on my schedule. If you are prepared, there is no reason NOT to give it a go. Helps with maintaining or losing some weight too, if you do more than one day per week.

Needless to say I can't tell how much I'm looking forward to Spring! Enough to do a happy dance! Remember Carlton? HA!
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">I am one of those people who
honestly believes that ANYTHING is possible. I feel our only

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">limitations
are the ones we place on ourselves - and the beliefs we hold as 'truths' for
ourselves. Over the years I have adapted new beliefs that have
served me more than some of my older ones– kind of ‘unlearning’ things that I was ‘taught’ – as back in the day, let's face it - we looked to others for direction.
However now as an adult I realize some things just didn’t set well with
me and my gut instincts or the inner me would ‘feel’ something was off. And new answers came, as in my heart/head I kept asking for better – so glad I did!

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">If you’ve been following me you
know I've been helping folks with their physical issues for a really long time lol - offering options and remedies to help improve a state of health they were
dealing with, whether a physical concern or emotional one. So many wonderful results have reinforced my 'beliefs' that I am convinced that our bodies are
PROGRAMMED for wellness. All we need to do is to get out of the
way to help things along. If you think about the basic programming of our body, it really is set up to 'heal'. Cuts, bruises, burns, broken bones, hair growing, ulcers, colds, flu etc...while these are basic examples, they do show how the body leans towards wellness. I like to think of how nature 'knows' how to change seasons, how animals "know" how to migrate, or what to eat, or hibernate or spin a web or a cocoon. It is already BUILT IN. It stands to reason the same is said of our bodies. They "know' how to heal. Read below to see how you can encourage that gift we have inside!

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">7 Tips To Healing:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Decide how you want to feel - Regardless of it being a physical or emotional issue - if you feel lousy, scared or upset in some way - then it stands to reason there is a flipside to that feeling. For example, if worried or anxious - the opposite of that might be 'relief or appreciation' - the improved, positive feelings are what you want to switch to AS SOON as you notice yourself sliding down that slope of feeling bad.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Start to pay attention to things you are saying and hearing/reading. - For me this means muting all Television commercials! I also rarely watch the news other than when winter is acting up. When you are trying to make improvements in any area - start choosing your words and your attention to be more in tune with the 'better' feeling you are wanting.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Take REGULAR breaks to check in with yourself. -When you change how you feel your cells follow your lead. We easily find ourselves getting carried along with a crabby friend or co-worker, not realizing what it's doing to our own 'stuff'. I suggest setting your cell phone for various times during the day to go off and remind you to 'check in' to see if thoughts/feelings need an overhaul.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">"Me Time" Twice Per Day - Preferably morning and evening but at the very least every night in the evening. This is a time to talk to your body or self about how GOOD it feels to have a healthy body - (especially areas in the body that are doing such a great job for you NOW) You don't have to overly focus on areas that need improvement as again, your

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">body KNOWS the drill! But taking time to thank your body, cells, organs, bones, muscles, mind etc, daily for all they do and KEEP doing is like a soothing balm to your cells. Think about how good it feels when you get a complement or a genuine thank you for doing something. Don't you just glow inside? It's no different for our insides.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Stop talking about your problem. Now of course you can speak of it, or talk with those who are assisting you along the way. However it should not be a topic of constant conversation. When I hurt my knee last summer and was obviously limping everyone kept asking me what was wrong or telling me what I should do. At first I was also talking about it...THEN I realized it was irritating and I was getting drawn into other negative stories etc. Irritation is a sign of needing to change things around! I stopped talking about it AND after that whenever someone said something I simply said..."Actually it's getting much better" and that stopped the negative comments in their tracks!

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">Make a daily list of 10 things you appreciate and take a minute to feel the "WHY" behind why you appreciate it, or them. Adding the 'feelings' behind it sink into your cells better than simply reciting a list.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">"Never face reality, unless it's a reality you want" ~ Abraham Hicks. Simple sentiment but loaded with meaning! Simply a shorter way of saying all of the above tips and more. Keep turning more to what you want and how you want to feel and be, and you will morph into a new and improved you/reality.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">I hope you are getting the picture. Please know I am NOT handing out medical advice of any kind or any type of do or don't. This is just what I see for myself or anyone as a way to improve what our bodies already know. By all means keep up with any medicine, treatments, diets, counseling etc that feels good to you and be grateful for that also!
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">And there are so many places to find even more information on the subject - Websites, Blogs, Books and Videos by Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra, MD, Wayne Dyer, Abraham-Hicks, Dr Joe Dispenza and MANY more. You have to be open to the information to find it - and trust me you will!

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";"> I hope you found this helpful and feel free to share this article with anyone you think may benefit!

I came to the realization that I've been "Craving Experiences" - that is what has been nagging me for the longest time. Maybe I'm really not just hungry all the time lol - it was a different kind of hunger. I can understand where the the whole 'mid life crisis' concept came from, but I'm thinking now it is people suddenly waking up to what life really is. It doesn't have to wait till mid-life to figure it out. Somehow we got things turned around early in life with the MUST DO concepts which really take over a huge bulk of our living. What happened to the fun, inspirational, motivating times?

So yes, I've started to notice what I haven't been doing and I know I'm not alone. We get so bogged down with all the 'shoulds' - school, work, family obligations and responsibilities that we start to think that that's all there is. Yes, those things can be a part of us. Great. But now I know more! We see people around us who seem to live in the same day in day out bubble of life. Similar routine day after day, year after year. We all fall into that category at times. But Dang! It gets REALLY old. And is it really LIVING? Are we really doing justice to the grandeur of the Universe? There's a whole world out there to experience, learn from, wonder at - even if it means starting with something so basic as going 20 miles in a different direction in your own town!

So along with 'craving experiences' which gets me to want to act, this means I'm also trying to 'change experiences' and this starts with my everyday thinking. I'm not sure what this means to me in the long run, but I am working on a list of desires or thoughts to start with. Scientists tell us we have 60 to 70,000 thoughts a day, and 95% of them are similar to the ones we had yesterday, no wonder it seems the same! I realize this is going to take some sincere attention! Some changes may start with my everyday routine on subjects where I desire improvement, cause if things haven't changed in a while then it's my own thoughts bringing it about! Eye opener! Initially, changing things up might be a new activity at home or driving different routes in my neighborhood. It might mean re-arranging your furniture or buying a totally NEW style of shirt or earrings you never considered. I do know that at least writing down the areas I desire change in, where I can see them will be a conscious reminder of what I can experience. YES EXPERIENCE. I'm not a big goal setter as that always made me feel like I was setting myself up for failure. Just never worked for me. For some it does. HOWEVER - having a list of EXPERIENCES I'd like to enjoy, now that puts a whole new spin on things.

Some 'new things' I tried this year because I knew something was driving me to change: Swing Dancing, Wildlife Volunteering, Hula Hooping, New

Makeup, New Recipes, New Restaurants, Drive in the Country, New Coffee Flavor at Starbucks (hey it can start with the little things) you get the idea...while not an earth shattering list it is something and I intend on doing even better in future. The point is I FELT something was needed to change and I started actual attempts to do something about it instead of dismissing it.

If we are not growing we are stagnating...if it's true that the Universe/God is living through each of us - am I really living up to my potential? NOW I know where all the desires and ideas are coming from. :o) I have come to realize there are 2 things that make me feel really alive - GROWING and GIVING. It's what does it for me. Have you felt something similar? Would love to hear your own inklings of desire - because hearing and seeing others experiences can rev us up and encourage more of the same. Here's to new experiences!

I almost have to look away sometimes! I've noticed that I feel changes happening with my vision. I happen to have one eye that sees well up close and one that sees better far away...and have glasses to accommodate that, and I've been fine. Lately however, I have been feeling I've been rubbing my eyes more, especially when reading or on computer a lot. The last time I had my eyes checked the doc asked if I was having any issues reading. I told him I seem to have to 're-adjust' after reading for a while, like 'refocusing'. I was told since I was 'getting older' there may be changes happening that are common when reading etc.

This was my immediate reaction to that!

Lol, I think I held my tongue at the time, but I wasn't pleased. However I do know I've had issues with night vision and feeling comfortable when driving when totally dark - mainly when I'm in new surroundings. And if reading a lot (which I do!) I do notice some blinking and need for rubbing. Sigh. Yes I will go back in for my next eye test soon. I am also going to do a little work on my own. I'm reading up a bit on the basic nutrients for eyes and I know what helps. Vitamin A, most folks know helps with vision. So I searched foods high in Vit A - I had NO idea that 1 medium carrot has a little over 10,000 IUs of Vitamin A! Darn! I'm not a fan of carrots...don't hate them but don't love them either. So I was reading a basic list of foods that are high in Vitamin A - and Cantaloupe is one of them. FUNNY that I've been eating a lot of cantaloupe in past few weeks and I don't think I've been rubbing my eyes as much! Sheesh....time to start paying attention! And if it helps my night vision too, I'll be laughing over
here!

List of healthy food sources of Vitamin A - you can see it's plentiful:

Sweet Potato - 1 Medium - 22,000 IU (luckily a fav of mine)
Butternut Squash - 1cup - 22,000 IU
Kale - 1 cup - 10,000
Carrots - 1 Medium - 10,000 IU
Cantaloupe - 1/8 wedge - 5900 (a lot for 1 wedge!) I eat half easily at once lol
Turnip Greens - 1 cup 6300
Mustard Greens-1 cup - 5800
Spinach - 1 cup -2500
Mango - 1 cup - 1700

I will be experimenting on myself with eating more of these foods, and I'm also starting to use my Herbal Eyewash as well. I remember my dad using it many years ago to just 'try' it. And he said over time he could read the racing results at the Horse Races from the stands without his glasses! He was pretty pleased with himself.

So! My point here is that more often than not if something comes up that doesn't please me...you can be sure I will do a little research and figure out options! More of what I want instead of what I don't. I've become very self reliant on myself, natural health and how my own thoughts can help me improve ANY situation. This instance is no different. I will be sure to report how things go in near future. I'm certainly not against getting an updated prescription for my glasses, but if I can delay it or make it minimal, then I'm going to do it!

I am a nature lover! Always have been - and it hasn't been till the past few months that I've really started to honor that part of me on a regular basis. Years ago I watched the film of a caterpillar spinning itself into a cocoon and then later the transformation as the butterfly emerges. An event most don't see or think about, not realizing what even happens to get them there. Even when just a kid I felt the magic of nature and knew that only something/someone good could have cared enough to create such beauty. It wasn't till I was much older that I appreciated a spiritual presence in nature and gave more thought to the calming happiness I always felt when really paying attention to my surroundings when outdoors.

Granted I live in suburbia - so while I can step out my door to see the grass and trees and sky, I find I like to have that quiet, mysterious-like feel, when I'm off by myself somewhere a bit more private. I also find VERY early mornings or odd hours at night a way to connect in a spiritual way with what I think of as Spirit or God, or the Universe. Thank goodness for porches! lol I also used to like tents and forts and caves and 'hide-a-ways' as I always could find ways to appreciate the silence. Enjoying the quiet moments have intensified for me and I find myself seeking them out regularly for my own peace of mind and pleasure.

I've been taking these past few months to go within a bit more - to sort through what feels right and good to me. It seems ongoing and yet I do feel progress. My 'cocoon' timeline differs from the butterfly. Yet I feel more confident with not 'knowing' exactly how some of the things I want for myself will come to be. Kind of like the caterpillar winding up for the eventual transformation. He just knows. And it hasn't failed yet.

One thing that has come up resoundingly for me during this time is that Life Is Supposed To Be Fun. I believe this with conviction! And yet I can admit that it had become a fleeting thought reserved only for when I was stressed to the max! I'd realize I needed to relax and enjoy. Happily I am trying to do it more often...daily, when I can. I realized I had to DECIDE to make it a habit. And it's working. Treating myself or someone to some Starbucks, playing new music on my computer at work, bringing in a water fountain to work, watching more comedy, sitting down by the Niagara River anytime of day absorbing the magnificence so many don't really see or feel, exploring FUN places to volunteer, doing my morning yoga moves, meditating, strawberry picking with family-remembering doing the same when a kid.

The point I'm making here is that I DECIDED to do this. For me this has made it more of a habit and I can feel a shift in my overall outlook. And it feels really really good too. (patting self on back lol!)

The way to anything I have wanted in my life has always come when I decided I wanted something and an underlying belief that it would come about. What has made it easier has been taking more time out to just enjoy. It never seems to fail. I still try to encourage folks who have emotional and physical concerns to make that part of their life a priority. Some look at me and I can see what they are thinking.."How is THAT going to improve what I am dealing with?" They feel the need to worry and stress about it. But I know better now. And happily some have taken on the challenge. I love seeing the light in their eyes that they are allowed to even consider it!

Here's to learning how to have the faith of a caterpillar to get where YOU are wanting to go in life. Start preparing for a pleasant outcome!

Katy Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12706142455502836037noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16426155.post-58536188268866913782013-04-18T12:25:00.001-04:002013-04-18T12:25:53.645-04:00Changes In The Making

Yes as those of you know on my email list I have taken a step back from RTH. Presently I only offer online consults for now and of course my products are still available. I found after 16 years I am in need of a re-vamping of self and other ways I can help folks feel better.

Being stagnant, bored or discontent just renders more of the same!
For many it can seem like it continues and there's no way out. However
by brushing off the cobwebs, by asking myself 'what do I like or want?' more
often...(actually daily!) I find there's more and more out there that I
can find to feel good and excited about. I am attracting information, people and inspiration to encourage it! I look around at others
that seem to be living a more productive and fulfilling life...what do
they do to amplify that? And how can those of us in a rut, start doing the same?

Ask yourself how you are feeling in general about life or where you are in life. If you are feeling good - milk it!! However if you have any feelings of sadness, discontent, boredom, anger, fear/worry, all you have to do is ask - 'what is the opposite of that feeling?' (pick one for now). Mine was general discontent. For me that rather encompasses alot - bored, un-motivated, anxious - maybe even a bit of hormones and mid-life 'stuff' creeping in. I knew I was tired of feeling this way. It's not 'living'.

Soooo since I'm still not quite sure what the heck I want to do with my life - on a personal or professional level...I'm working on just generally 'feeling' better. So that means I really have to consider some areas I CAN do something about. I have a list of ideas or things I either love doing or have always wanted to do. And I'm starting to do them. One at a time...step by step...but it's better than sitting and feeling stuck.

Improving my 'spirit' also improves my body and health. It keeps me looking and feeling younger - I notice on the days I really make the effort to improve my mood, I actually receive complements on how I look! Go figure. I also have more to give others and they benefit from my improved outlook as well. Kinda nice being 'in the zone' for a change.

Like I said...Changes in the making.

Maybe it's because my mom always made a fun day out of it when we were younger, but it's just a 'feel' good day in the middle of what is usually a bleak winter month!

On top of that it's also Random Acts Of Kindness Week. I already started doing little things for people including learning some silly jokes to tell to customers when they come in. Regardless of what you can or can't do (it doesn't have to cost money!), it's just a nice way to acknowledge that others benefit from our kindness and we do too.

Oh...and don't hesitate to treat yourself to a personal act of kindness. As the old saying goes "Treat others the way you would treat yourself!"

Happy Valentines Day! ♥Katy Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12706142455502836037noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16426155.post-10348575790508528572013-01-15T08:46:00.000-05:002013-01-15T08:46:55.870-05:00Paying More Attention-Core Values

I had been feeling rather blah, hey it happens - perhaps some of it winter blahs...but I knew it was more than that. I know I've talked about things to do when feeling depressed and this is similar but another take on what you can pinpoint, just for you! I was feeling minimal motivation, going through the motions of my day, even my days off - then I really knew something wasn't right!! I hate to waste a day off...although I do take some days and do NOTHING. ☺ I asked for help and clarity from someone, and they brought something to my attention and she asked if I was honoring my 'core values'. Huh! I had to stop, as frankly I was trying to think..."do I have core values??" lol Turns out I do! I imagine you do too! She asked me if I was neglecting areas in my life that brought me joy. Not the big, giant goodies, but the everyday stuff. I really had to think as my first reaction was "no" I don't think so. Then she said -are there things you like to do and say you will do, but haven't gotten around to doing lately? (and not because you have to, because YOU want to)

Ah!....Lightbulb moment! Yes...this was true for me. I had to take some time, but I came up with a couple basic ones I could pinpoint right away, but one in particular. I LOVE nature. It soothes me, feels rejeuvenating, inspires me and I can actually feel like I'm surrounded by something that loves me - odd, I know, but as much as I love nature I when I'm out in it, I feel as if 'something/someone is loving me back just as much. Why have I ignored that?? Whether my porch on early mornings or late at night...out for a walk in the park or neighborhood, on a beach or out camping - I think this is also why horsebackriding has always been so soothing for me. The best of both - horses AND nature. A win win. Anyway, I had been putting off a walk or an outing due to the cold - and that same day it was chilly but not windy and I went to a nearby park and walked for about 45 minutes. I appreciated the fresh air and the trees...(I also love trees). Even thinking about it now feels good! And I'd been putting it off!! WTH?? Why do we do this?

So folks when you feel kind of 'off' - a little down or just not motivated, perhaps you can ask yourself if you've been paying attention to your CORE values. And then do something to fix it, sooner rather than later. Katy Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12706142455502836037noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16426155.post-56765244031695931222012-12-31T13:12:00.000-05:002016-07-25T10:37:05.869-04:00Getting Better Sleep Is Possible

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I was watching a series on Hulu over the weekend and yes, even Hulu has commercials. 70% of them were for prescription and over the counter medication. One in particular that prompted this post was for a prescription for a sleeping pill for when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. Of course I rolled my eyes, not at the concept that this doesn't happen, because it does, but that a medication has been pin-pointed to address yet another variable of sleep issues. It's really just a spin off from another very well known drug for sleep, but now it's able to target another market - and make yet another category of people think they are in need of serious medication.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">But wait, it gets better. Now, it may or may not work for you, but how about taking a chance on some of these side effects, whether you sleep or not?
'Driving, eating, or engaging in other activities while not fully awake without remembering the event the next day have been reported. Other abnormal behaviors including being more outgoing or aggressive, as well as confusion, hallucinations, and agitation, may occur. Don’t take if you drank alcohol that day or before bed, as it may increase these behaviors. In depressed patients, worsening of depression, including risk of suicide may occur.' Wow where can I sign up? (yeah, sarcasm can't be helped)

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ok - I'll get to the real reason for this post. Pretty much EVERYONE has sleep issues from time to time. Some worse than others. I certainly hope you will talk to your doctor or health care provider about it. Using a mild sleeping pill for short periods or occasionally is not the end of the world, so I'm not condemning their use. However as a reasonable adult, I hope you have also checked into possible reasons for the sleeplessness as well as looking at safer options first!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I am one who has been dealing with sleep issues since I was 13! It comes and goes over the years but it's never far away and can spring up for long periods of time depending on what is happening in my life - physically or emotionally. When younger I can say it was worry and hormones. Both just seemed to make the other worse! Now as a full-fledged adult, when it happens I know what to look at in my life and make adjustments. And I always get better results! Usually it's a deficiency (calcium/magnesium or b vitamins), and of course the emotional aspect causes the mind to go 100 mph and we all know how this can cause sleeplessness.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">What has helped me and others I work with, in no particular order:

Stress<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">: Even if you think <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">you are stress free - think again! So many of us are programmed that our 'taking care of regular business' is 'normal' we don't even know what stress is anymore unless it's a big wake up call! Work, family, health, money, relationships - you name it...something is always going on that can affect the nervous system. And it doesn't have to be bad 'stuff' - it can be the good/exciting stuff that can cause underlying problems too. Noticing it is one thing..the other is to take some time out for yourself daily to keep it from affecting you physically or emotionally. I use meditation, walking/nature, reading, yoga, massage, a sauna, a fun movie, a new restaurant - something used regularly to help diffuse any upsets that may otherwise take hold.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Deficiencies: As I mentioned calcium and magnesium are key. James F Balch, M.D. (author of Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing) has written that - "A lack of the nutrients calcium & magnesium can cause you to wake up after a few hours and not go back to sleep". And with B vitamins, specifically B12 - from Dr. Mercola - "Without adequate blood levels of B12 you can experience low energy, mental fatigue, mood changes and sleep difficulties." - So start taking all 3 if you aren't already!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Stop worrying about it : Not sleeping, that is. This was hard to do at first. All we hear are how important sleep is (yes, I know it is) but worrying about only makes it worse, trust me I KNOW! lol Instead start telling yourself you will catch up on sleep this week, and in the meantime - after lying there a while with no luck, just get up and read or watch TV for a while and then try again. Giving myself permission NOT to worry about it has allowed me to make up for lost sleep much easier now, than the days when I constantly worried and kept track of 'how much sleep I wasn't getting'.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Safe Supplements : Most have heard of Melatonin, which is a hormone produced in the body to help with sleep and wake cycles. If deficient you can benefit from using it before bed. GABA is another helpful supplement and is an amino acid prevalent in the brain which helps to calm excited nerve impulses. Can also be helpful if you are deficient.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Herbs: There are so many safe herbs to consider for calming and relaxation - I hope you will give them a try if you need them. You can try one at a time or a combination of herbs that work together for a more potent effect. Herbs like Scullcap, Chamomile, Hops, Valerian, Black Cohosh, Passion Flower and Wood Betony are just a few I have used with good results. You will be able to find them in liquid, capsule or loose tea - so any preference is available for use! I have sleep and nerve calming formulas that can be used for various concerns, so don't hesitate to ask for more info.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">These are all very effective ways to improve your sleep habits. Each person is different and there are variables for everyone...ie other health concerns, hormone imbalances etc. Bottom line is to know natural help is and always has been available! Any way I can help, just ask!

By all means talk to your doctor if you feel you are seriously depressed - but know there is help available for those days when you feel blah and just can't shake it.

First off, If of the female gender, I ALWAYS will suggest taking a stab at balancing the hormones. I use specific female herbs like Dong Quai, Wild Yam, Chaste Tree, Angelica and a few others to have mother nature assist! So many factors will cause hormones to go up and down. If still getting periods, there can be such a drop before your cycle begins that you will feel it and it can feel like you are sinking - either that or your moods will be a roller coaster. With Peri Menopause and Menopause - it isn't as drastic but can be more of a daily cloud that comes and goes. If you are of the male species, and over 40 - also can't hurt to have your testosterone levels checked as they tend to go down or fluctuate causing changes as well.

Secondly - What are you eating? Have you gotten into a habit of just grabbing food and not really enjoying it? More takeout than home-cooked meals? Not taking supplements to offset your sometimes poor food choices? This can be another way to soothe the moods - Yes you really DO feel better when you eat better. You will actually be getting real nutrition into your blood stream, cells and organs. Fruits, veggies, salads - easy on the body, full of nutrition and energy inducing benefits. Try and cut back on the quick fixes.

Third - Get the pipes moving! Yes - improve your bowel habits if you aren't going once or twice per day. Even if you are, one weekend a month of cleansing the bowel can be HUGE to release stored up toxins and improving your mood. If you aren't going daily then gentle cleansing will feel like a weight has been lifted. You may even start skipping without realizing it- lol.

Last but not least - Movement and Nature. Move the bod and get some fresh (outdoor) air!! I don't care how cold it is. I know I don't like to be cold. But there's something so invigorating about being bundled up properly and going for a walk in the winter. (I do tend to pass if windy) In Western NY we don't care what we look like if it's a matter of keeping warm! lol (I'm glad it's pretty well understood here!) Warmth is more important. Also I keep tissue stuffed in my pockets as my nose runs almost immediately when I go out...but other than that...it's such a treat to be walking/moving to the point of where I feel warmth. I have some good walking boots that keep me warm and have good traction, so really there's no excuse. But what it does for the soul and mind - being out in nature, revving up the circulation and just 'moving' - really takes the edge off any prior dreary mood.

You don't have to settle for feeling down or depressed any time of year, but especially not during our longer winter months. Lots you can do to feel good, so have these ideas in place the next time you feel a black cloud has found you - the fog will lift sooner when you know what to do about it!

#1 - One Step At A Time

Whether it's starting for the first time or needing to 'reboot' a health regime that doesn't motivate you - I find keeping it simple helps me to get on a path that feels good to make a routine.

Begin
with something that feels 'easy' is always a great way to introduce
change into your routine. This could be something as basic as buying a
nice water bottle or glass that encourages you to implement more water
drinking. I found a great glass with lid that is BPA free....or a nice stainless steel water bottle is great too - I love 'lemon water' or water with a few slices of cucumber for a refreshing change - whatever helps you get that intake up! This way you'll look forward to your next glass of water!

#2 Get Up Earlier

Becoming an early riser has definitely worked for me. Having had some sleep issues over the years, I've made my life less stressful by not worrying about it anymore. Instead I make my schedule work for me and if that means getting up between 4-6am most mornings, then that's what I do now. Sure I tend to go to bed earlier, but hey, that's what DVR's are for! ☺

Getting up earlier allows me to EASE into my day. I have time to meditate, do some stretching or yoga, pack my lunch - even do some laundry or go shopping! I've been known to hit the grocery store at 6am! Even if it's a half a hour earlier, make that work for you, whether it's quiet time, exercise or getting something knocked out so you don't have to deal with it after you get home. Right now I have my mini egg quiche's going in the oven with healthy veggies added...breakfast for a couple days or a snack- yum!

#3 Take YOUR Magic Supplement

Ok...I'm being a little silly here, as there is no magic pill (not one,

anyway). However for YOU and you alone there is something you can take everyday, that is very specific to you and your life. Whether it's your age, current health, lifestyle or diet - somewhere in that mix is room to improve. For example if you are past 40 taking something that works on inflammation can't hurt. (Turmeric, Ginger, Devil's Claw) Or if you are a female of any age - Herbs that support the hormonal system (Ovaries, Thyroid) can change your life! If you have ANY stress in your life - don't blow it off as 'not much I can do' - There is always something you can do to counteract the effects on your body and mind over time. A great B complex -whether a pill, or powder (green drink) in my opinion is essential - 'daily' even more so than a multi vitamin. (my opinion of course) If you live in the North - a vitamin D3 supplement is another easy yet noticeable supplement to use to your benefit. I have seen big changes in clients as well as myself. Hey even the open minded medical minds can't deny the benefits they see with many quality supplements.

So 3 simple ways to start on or get back on the path to health and feeling good. Any of these are a great way to implement self motivation techniques into your daily routine. I don't care how old you are, or if you have numerous health challenges - you can always feel better which makes it easier for the next step, and the next.

And of course I am here to guide you with any questions!
is too short to feel crappy about common 'in your face' health issues that can
distract us from a productive and enjoyable day! The list of
complaints below should be temporary and rarely uncomfortable for long, and yet
so many let them become that way. Doesn't have to be! Learn some basics from
me and you will find less discomfort and more ease!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I see so many accepting a less than satisfactory existence! Are you doing this? Many have worked with their doctor (of course you should consult your doctor for your health concerns) and do know what the 'problem' is, yet they are not getting or seeing lasting results. They then bemoan their problem to anyone who will listen...but afraid to consider some very basic, helpful and viable solutions! Letting these everyday issues get to us eventually can bring us down, which just compound the problem! Our immune system is then compromised as well as our emotional out look. And it keeps going.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ask questions, try something new, empower yourself and your loved ones.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Admit it, there is so much information out there in regards to Menopause.... however, when talking about Perimenopause symptoms, I feel like I'm sitting at the top of a roller coaster asking myself how I got up here, clinging with a vice like grip - all wide-eyed and facing the unknown. I seem to be stumbling over yet another experience as I move through this point in my life. From Merriam-Webster: "Perimenopause - the period around the onset of menopause that is often marked by various physical signs as hot flashes and menstrual irregularity." Well, I'm glad THAT explained everything! LOL Not even close. I have to say I find a large percentage of women I have talked to have little or no real knowledge of the list of possible symptoms that could be caused by this time in their life.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We've all heard about the weight gain, hot flashes, moodiness, menstrual irregularities - but my on and off again symptoms of headaches, aches and joint pain, dizziness and anxiety were not on my radar at all! I have to say besides working with clients, I see many confused women at the doctors office. It seems the majority have no idea their sudden symptoms - ie, anxiety, could be a sign of perimenopause and not a separate issue. Especially for those who have never dealt with anxiety prior. Simply 'treating' anxiety will not get rid of it, instead, looking at other factors (hormone fluctuations, age and other symptoms) will pinpoint a smarter treatment regime.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I dealt with anxiety years ago when going through my bowel issues...no fun. Having it pop up now for seemingly 'no reason' was confusing at first. It felt different, but something was going on. Then I looked at my other factors and realized they were all part of the same group and I did some research. What a relief and what an eye-opener!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thankfully I don't hesitate to try something natural. For me it's as automatic as getting a glass of water when I'm thirsty. I know it will quench my thirst, just as I know I will find relief with my herbs/supplements if I just give it a go. For me what has already made a difference is increasing my women's herbal formula. I also looked at what I have on my counter (all kinds of goodies) and realized I hadn't started up my D3 since summer. So I started that again, 5000IU per day. Since those changes alone I haven't experienced the anxiety (palpitations), and the 'achy-ness' I would feel by the end of the day is hardly noticeable. Whew! I have also been on and off again with YOGA these past few months...and am realizing it is helping me even when I only have time for 15 minutes some mornings. So I am taking this seriously as darn it, I have every intention of aging gracefully and staying active...these 3 simple steps are on the road to managing this. I'm sure I'll find more if I need to.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> A nice woman I met with last evening (in her 50's) commented on some symptom she was having and her doctor saying it was a part of getting older. Hell no! lol We don't HAVE to decline as we get older...we may age as the years go by - but decline is something we can take a stand against. Listening to comments like this and taking them as a belief will add to that 'decline' mentality. I say choose otherwise.
